About WIP
The group meets once a month on the second Tuesday evening at 7.30 in the upstairs room of the Greyhound Pub in Wadhurst High Street.
There are visiting speakers, slide presentations, field trips and visits to exhibitions (within the South East and to London). We have held three exhibitions of members’ work and hope to do so every year.
The group’s inspiration and founding member was the late Inga Thrower, who taught GCSE & A Level photography at Uplands College, Wadhurst. Some of the members were her students and she passed on to them her passion for photography.
Members are very interested in ‘photography as a form of art’ and as a group we aim to encourage and motivate members to develop their own independent photography skills. We welcome all comers and there is no competitive pressure to produce work.
We have good links with two other photography groups in the SE, (IPSE and T16) and members are welcome to join in any of their field trips and visit their exhibitions.
It’s a friendly, informal, group and we often get together for drinks on a Thursday night at The Greyhound and have had summer and Christmas parties.
Membership Fees
We have an annual fee of £12 and members also contribute extra funds towards exhibition costs.
